UPCOMING RESIDENT: Joe Scott – Local Renaissance Man

BRIEF BIO:

A Greensboro native by choice since 2003, Joe Scott is a writer, filmmaker, journalist, and public servant. In 2008, he co-created the Mixed Tape Film Series, a popular cinema retrospective that programs alternative film screenings across Greensboro. Joe currently resides with his wife Rachel and two dogs Jack-Jack and Madison.

RESIDENCY DESCRIPTION:

For Mixed Tape Production’s “Let’s Animate! Stop Motion Animation Workshop,” Adults, Kids, Teenagers, Artists,Students, Nine-to-Fiver-ers, and everyone else in between is invited to learn about and create imaginative stop motion animation. Participants will not only get a chance to interact with experienced, professional animators and create their very own stop motion animation in two hours or less, but some pieces of animation will be projected on the huge screen of The Carolina Theatre as part of Mixed Tape Production’s experimental album project, slated for release in late October/early November.
